I'm no salesperson but...

After reading back a few of my old posts when they were still colourful, i realise that those were the more interesting posts in my blog.. comparing to my mono-coloured trying-to-be-mature posts, the older ones were more lively and entertaining.. so my trying to be mature attempt has failed.. I think maybe that was why I started to lose my interest to blog... I use to spend hours to colour up my blog... changing the colours and fonts to suit the expression of the words used...

So I guess I should try to writing the way I used to when I first started blogging... It may run a lil.. As you know I have been trying to be mature for a few years already... going back might not be easy... maybe my attempt to be lively and entertaining back will meet the same fate as the being mature attempt...

Nonsense aside... I went to Carrefour Tropicana City Mall.. why do I need to go so far as there's a Carrefour less than 10 minutes drive from where I live?? It's all because of a camera... as my old camera is hinting that it's getting old by adding lines (literally) to the photos.. I don't know how to explain the condition, it's like when you try to take photo under a moving fan.. you'll see the shadow of the fan blades running in the screen.. I thought that was the problem at first but it turns out that fan or no fan, there will still be lines.. It's something like that.. If you don't get it, go experiment yourself... When I took it to the camera shop, the guy there told me the problem is the LCD ribbon.. no point fixing. Okay... time to get a new one.. Yippeee!!

So that was when the going to Carrefour started.. because there is a promotion going on.. RM299 for a Olympus VG-110, 12mp, 4x zoom... and free 8Gb memory card!!! Okay right?? The promotion will be on going until end of this month... so if you need a camera.. a basic, decent camera... not those sophisticated canggih ones.. this is a very good deal.. coz I have checked.. the same model with the same free gift will cost you RM340-RM400!! I not really that into DSLR although I did study about focal point, f-stop, exposure, aperture whatsis... but I don't think I can master them well so no point getting a DSLR.. I'll get one when I have the funds and have the mood to learn and master photography.. so for now, a basic digital camera that fits into my pocket is good enough.. I'm no show off with a DSLR but my photos are amatuer-ish and makes no difference with those taken using a basic digicam.. Since I'm very kiasu so I won't go showing off with super canggih equipment but zero techniques and knowledge... that's embarassing..So before I can take photos that make people go "Wa...." I'll settle with normal digicams...

Okie, back to the camera purchasing story... Why did I travel so far for a camera again??? Oh, it's because there's no stock in the Carrefour near me... so the second nearest Carrefour I know is the one in Tropicana City Mall... So off I go... For your info, Carrefour did not pay me to advertise this promotion...

I head straight to the gadget booth and was so happy to see the camera model I want in the display case.. (If you were wondering what model was it.. I believe it's big enough up there..) So I ask the promoter who's at the booth what are the colours available?? The promoter gave me a blank look and say if a super-dee-duper unbelievably soft volume, and it was so soft I forgot what exactly did he say... I think it's something like he dunno.. so I ask, can I see the camera? He said NO!!!! What the???!! So I ask him again.. No??!! then he answered in that super-dee-duper soft volume.. how can you qualify to be a promoter if you talk so soft?? It's a hypermarket so that means the place is hyper-ly big.. with that volume, who the hell can hear you?? ok, so he answered.. "The promoter not here yet, he has the key so I can't let you see..."  Owh-kay... then when will the promoter be here?? "I don't know... He cuti!!!" What??!!! He's off today?? there's such thing as off days in sales?? i know the promoters take off-days in turns but there can't be a situation where there's NO promoter??!!!! so I asked, again... does that mean you won't be selling cameras today??? He said "YES!!!" huh??!!!! so for once, I decided to be the kecoh-problematic customer and demands to see the supervisor.. well, I am a very patient person.. My tolerance level is usually very high.. I can tolerate my neighbour having his religious music FULL BLAST every morning... I can tolerate when people borrow my stuff and losing them, end up not returning or replacing, pay back the cash or anything whatsoever... I can say I can tolerate all these.. so I'm quite a patient person... but this... I came so far just to buy the camera and you are telling me that you are not selling??!!!

So I went searching for the supervisor... The promoter didn't want to tell me exactly where is their supervisor, he just pointed at a random direction.. so i walked off and search for someone with the supervisor tag.. and found one!! although she's not from the gadget section but she did help locate the supervisor for that section.. who told me only that particular promoter has the key so i'll have to wait until that promoter comes back from god-knows where... she ask for my contact number and assure that she will contact me when she know what time will the promoter be back.. fine.. so I waited... she said she'll call me before 1pm and it's around 11am that time.. so fine.. I waited... walked around Carrefour... until around 12.45pm, there's still no news.. so I went back to the booth and ask the promoter there if the Very-Important-Promoter is back yet.. the promoter answered... as usual.. "i dunno..." Sigh.... I demanded for the supervisor again.. and he walked off... as though he was going to call his supervisor.. the thing is, he went off wandering until I decided to stroll away from the booth.. then he appeared at the booth again.. as though nothing has happened... ISH!!!! Ok, since I have already started to become a super kecoh-problematic-will-be-blackisted-by-promoters customer, i might as well continue.. I walked to another promoter and ask for the supervisor as she promised me to call before 1pm but there's no news and it's almost 1pm.. 15minutes to 1pm IS almost 1pm... so he walked to the camera booth and ask the promoter there about the situation.. promoter A (the promoter at the booth, who has been avoiding me) told him and promoter B(the one I just talked to) turn to the other side of the booth and say.. is this the camera you are looking for?? I looked and IT IS!! so I nodded and he ask for the key to open the display cabinet!!!! and promoter A HAS THE KEY!!!!  I was dumbstruck-ed... So all this while I can actually purchase the camera?? I have waited more than 1 hour for nothing??!!! Ok, the camera that i pointed was at the right side of the booth which was locked and nobody in the world has the key except for the Very-Important-Promoter who was said to be on leave today... and the camera on promotion is on the left side of the booth.. where the genius promoter A has the key all these while!!!!

Ok fine.. I got the camera I wanted... but I would like to ask.. are promoters similar with salesperson?? By right when they could open the side with the cameras.. they should turn over to the other side and say "would you like to look at this?? this is on promotion.." and OPEN the damn display cabinet!!! instead of shoo-ing me off by saying that they can't open the display cabinet so they are not selling cameras today.... Sigh... I thought promoters were suppose to promote... if I was not desperate to get a camera, I might just walk off and you just lose yourself a potential customer who is actually ready to swipe the card and spend money on your product... 

Sigh... What's wrong with people these days???
