[W] for Wongfu

I can't believe I didn't blogged about this... Last Friday, I attended the best event ever.. after my birthday, of course.. the Everything Before Us Movie Tour by WongFu Productions..

http://everythingbeforeusmovie.com/

Everything Before Us is a movie made by Wong Fu Productions

The movie was not available in cinemas, so you could only stream it online... Then... they had a tour!!

And they had a stop in Malaysia!!! And.. It is super near me!!! So, how could I say no?? I purchased my tickets right after it was open for sale.. Yea, typical kiasu-ness..

So, in case you didn't know about the movie.. Here's the trailer..

And in case you need more.. I shall copy and paste the description of the movie..
In the near future, all romantic relationships are overseen by the D.E.I. – The Department Of Emotional Integrity. Much like a credit score is given to represent financial responsibility, a 'relationship score' is given to keep people accountable for their romantic activity and choices. The score is public for all to see and affects various aspects of daily life.
Ben and Sara, a former couple in their early 30s, must meet again to settle a conflicting score and reconcile the reasons their relationship fell apart. Seth and Haley decide to enter their first registered relationship together after just graduating high school. With bright eyes, innocent hearts, and a naive view of what love could be, they face a long distance relationship for the first time. The two couples face different but intersecting challenges in love amidst the DEI rules.
'Everything Before Us' is the first feature film from Wong Fu Productions.
Founded by Wesley Chan, Ted Fu, and Philip Wang, Wong Fu Productions is primarily known for their YouTube channel where they create short films, sketches, music videos and vlogs for their amazing fanbase of supporters from around the world. Since starting in their dorm rooms 10 years ago, Wong Fu Productions has grown to over 2 million subscribers and over 300 million views.

They came to Malaysia to screen their movie.. I'm not really a fan of cinemas but it's a WongFu movie.. so i am a bigger fan of wongfu than I am not a fan of cinemas.. so wongfu won.. haha

While I was at the event.. I would certainly want to get my hands on the awkward animals but unfortunately  there was a limited number for the stocks they have brought over since they were touring Asia so I guess they had to limit the numbers per country so that everybody have a chance to get them.. I was eyeing the awkward fox and awkward giraffe.. Too bad the awkward fox was sold out when it was my turn.. we had to queue to buy.. But luckily there was one more awkward giraffe left and I got the last one!!! Yay!!

Here is how the awkward fox looks like..

Buying it online is too expensive as RM is dropping like rain.. So, i guess this will have to wait till next time..

Good thing I managed to get the awkward giraffe, that looks like this..

The picture on the website is cuter.. hahaha.. the neck is bendable.. so it might sometimes look like this..
Here am I with the giraffe

The event began with the screening of the movie and then a Q&A session..

Oh yes, there was a selfie session before the event.. which explains why I was late to queue for their merchandise and missed the awkward fox..

and to fulfill my inner wongfu fan girl.. I got the Wongfu lankyard too!
The picture in the website is nicer than the one i took of mine so i'll just use the picture from the website.. You may check out the website if you are interested..

Before I end, I would like to thank the extra guy in the selfie picture.. Thank you so much for accompanying me to the event.. Although I would usually go alone if there's no one with me but I really appreciate you coming with me and thanks for the giraffe and lankyard.. these are my best Christmas present of the year!! I know my interests are a bit different from my friends around me which explains why I usually have to go attend events and concerts alone.. I am glad that I have another person to be tagged along now.. Thanks!

And, that's all for now...
Signing off.. (I almost typed singing off.. haha)

[V]ery Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas peepoes, if there are still any..
I have seriously considered to switch to vlogging since it seems slightly easier than writing an essay about my life.. however when i considered the editing part, I guess it was not as easy as I thought.. I am already so reluctant to type, i don't think i would be any way different with editing video.. So, I thought.. back to the old blogging.. I still prefer writing but just I sometimes am lazy to type them out..

Still pending... My Korean study tour posts.. Will be up, I promise but i can't promise when..

Oh well, it is Christmas.. Although I don't really celebrate but I love the Christmas atmosphere around me... Shopping malls with Christmas theme has something I can't explain that warms the heart.. Christmas to my is usually about toys.. I remember the Home Alone movies that usually come out during Christmas always have its ending of unwrapping presents and a heap of toys.. especially Home Alone 2 where there was a toy store, a huge one in the centre of NYC.. It has been my dream to visit a toy store that big... but i guess nowadays kids are more drawn to ipads and computers games than to play with toys.. besides, toys nowadays are darn expensive..

In case you haven't seen the Christmas decoration in Mid Valley.. here you go..

Cuckoo clocks... so nostalgic.. I wonder if people still use these..

Teddy bears on top, soft fluffy teddy bears..

Alphabet blocks.. all the toys from my childhood... How can I not love this??

And of course... we had a gift exchange thingy in the office.. so here's what I have gotten :)

The pillow, teddy bear and snowman basket was from the company's gift exchange.. I actually got a music box but then a colleague came with the teddy, snowman and pillow and asked if I was keen to exchange... I couldn't say no to the teddy bear so I exchanged.. I didn't know what to do with a music box anyway.. so I am happy.. the panda thingy is from the department's "secret santa" who turns out to be my manager.. I don't really understand why they reveal the identity of the secret santa but oh well.. it is small but at least it is cute and it's a panda so I like it.. The bigger tube is a hand cream from of the managers in my department and the smaller crabtree hand cream is from my GM... Last but not least, the starbucks card on the teddy's lap is a gift from the company...

And that's all for my update..

[T]adaa! Long time no see....... Balloons

Since the start of 2015, I have not blogged a single word here.. nor have I even logged into my Blogger account.. thinking of this really made me felt guilty... I should have at least post some new year resolutions (eventhough I havent really accomplished any or have any for this year) and I even missed my annual 1st of March post...

Counting my long debts of travel posts... i barely started the 2012 Korea Study tour and now I have a 2014 Korea study tour + Jeju-Busan Free and Easy added into the load, not forgetting a Hatyai-Bangkok trip in between during 2013.. I really salute bloggers who could blog about their whole trip in detail right after they are back from where ever they've been...

But... this post will NOT be a travel post... sorry to disappoint.. it is March anyway.. So...

Thanks to everyone who made my birthday so meaningful.. Never had I expected there will be such a celebration with presents, balloons, and ribbons... all I thought was a dinner and k session which my colleagues had planned a week before...

So, we went off for dinner... and then head to the karaoke... As I stepped into the room, I was surprised with the decorations... As far as I remember I hardly had any birthday parties before.. The only one that I remember was when i was 5.. which was a good... number or years ago..

I just realised I did not have any photos of the decorations without my face in it...

Just so you know.. my colleagues did put a huge effort into decorating the place.. there are balloons everywhere, a shiny, glittery banner thingy wishing me a Happy Birthday.. and the stars hung around the lights.. Man!! this is the best birthday deco for my birthday I have ever seen!!

And then... that's not all.... my colleagues surprised me by inviting even more people to the party!! Oh yeah!! I actually have friends!! People whom I have known from events that my company have organised...

And yes... There were presents!!!! Omaigot!! I haven't been receiving presents for quite a while.. except from myself.. haha..

Yeah, that's me opening my present...

Let's just fast-forward the process.. so here's what I've got for my birthday.. from my colleagues and friends..

There were 3 presents altogether.. and they were all wrapped super nice!! The first one was the heart-shape pendant necklace in the centre.. Then the music box on the top left and the last one was the red cat plushie on the bottem left.. the photos on the right are also my presents when they were still wrapped.. and fyi.. the red plushie cat has a body, just its head is kinda huge that it kinda hides its body.. anyway.. who doesn't love presents?? I LOVE THEM!!
Thanks everyone who contributed!!

And of course, there's a cake.. one of the prettiest cake I have had on my birthday too!!

A summary of my cake... and my cutting the cake..

And this is a summary of my birthday...

After that we sang our lungs out.. we were in a karaoke anyway... I didn't sing much though but it's fun seeing everybody enjoying themselves..

I'm just so glad to have known all these people, their passion has really influenced me and made me a better person..

And not forgetting to have a great family who didn't mind me spending the whole day out without them... coming home to this...

This is my siblings' way of wishing me Happy Birthday.. hehehe

My birthday's day itself may be passed but I celebrated it with another bunch of friends the next day..

We had dinner at a very romantic Thai food place at One City.. it's on the rooftop.. where the famous skywalk is!!

A very nice place with the view of I-am-not-sure-which highway...

After dinner, we had cake at the ground floor of One City..

And that, sums up my birthday for this year.. super heart-warming, super fulfilling... and... presents...

Until we meet again...

[L]ooks like I have a new interest, again!!!

After being madly obsessed with felt wool stuff.. I have currently developed a new interest -- sewing... Not that I have ditched my felt wool stuff aside, I still stab once in a while just not as frequent when my hype about it started... My current new interest came by when I was doing my window shopping online, I came across a few sites that sells handmade handbags and it suddenly struck me that how cool will it be if I could make my own bag.. okay, I admit i will not be reaching that level, not until... maybe 5 years of hard work or something but... a pouch would be nice... so i happily shared the website telling people that it is so cool to be able to make your own bag...

Then, a friend from work told me about a sewing workshop that is providing classes for beginners... the best thing was, it is near home!! and of course, i am still in the hype, so i enrolled myself in... that's the problem about being single.. you have just too much time, you tend to be involved in things like this... Oh well... sewing ain't too bad...

Just had my first class and I was taught to sew a key pouch...

It all started on a fine non-working day... i arrived at the workshop.. and was greeted by the shopkeeper who took out a few pieces of fabrics for me to choose...

When I started with my project, another girl came in and looked really familiar.. we stared at each other for a good 5 seconds to confirm that we actually work in the same company but different departments.. we would bump into each other during toilet breaks..

anyway, coincidental stories aside...

It all started like this... 4 different kind of fabrics to be sewed and ironed on each other...

Then to sew the sides to hide the opening of the layers... whatever that it. sorry I am not very good at describing processes..

Since I can't really explain... behold, pictures!!

All these were done using the sewing machine which was much different than the one I have at home.. Mine is the old traditional one that does not require electricity and you can control the rhythm of the sewing by the pace of your pedaling... which basically means, the faster i pedal the fast it sews and vice versa... but the one used here is the modern one... *feeling really old now* you can't really control the rhythm unless you are really familiar with the machine and hence... the very untidy stitches...

And now, we reached the hardest part of all... the zip!!!!

The hard part is I will have to hand sew the zip onto the base... the sewing part is fine.. but remember that there were 4 layers of fabrics and with the zip it makes 5 layers of not-very-thin fabrics which makes the needle hard to be stabbed through... i pricked my fingers a few times while doing this... yikes!!

And then, i am almost done... Now I will have to sew the pouch together...

Which is not very hard compared to the zip but I kinda misunderstood the instructions and hence... untidy stitches... again~~~

and then.. we insert the ring into the pouch and voilaaaaa....

It's done!!!! the stitches were very messy but my very first, very own key pouch~~
I think i have spent around 6 hours making this... the hand sew part is torturous!!! my fingers still hurt by just thinking of this... oh well...

I sure hope I could achieve something here... maybe by being able to make my own pouch by the end of the year!!

That's all folks!

[K]ool-est event I have been to during the year

Hey there, I have been wanting to blog about this but i couldn't get my hands on photos... Apparently I was seated right at the end of the Gold area that I couldn't take a decent photo of the stage and the guy sitting in front of my is so freaking tall that his head appeared in almost all of my photos.. so i decided that the photos were too dreadful to be shared and deleted them all....

Oh, I just realise I didn't mention what event I have been to...
Behold~~~

I believe, if you have been reading this blog for a while.. I have mentioned quite a few times that I am very into Youtube celebrities.. and when they are here for concerts with affordable ticket prices, how could I say no???

I linked some of the photos from Tian Chad because I was super far from the stage... Check out the link if you wanna see more photos... (To Tian Chad, if you would not want your photos to appear here, please leave me a comment and I will remove them asap.) the rest are some I got from chingu who went with me..

The concert was opened by a few local indie singers... This is Charis Ow..

And, this is Sheikh Eamir and his band, the Revellers...

This little girl here is only 9 years old!! she's originally from Chille, i think... but she's currently living here in KL.. Check her out.. Amanda Barros aka Mandy Star

I was still hoping that I could pass PTS at 9... and obviously, I failed... why do other people have such happening lives??!!!

The MC, Johann was hilarious...

He's the one on the left.. I got this photo off his facebook... Check him out.. He is super entertaining...

Then, it's Jason Chen's turn to perform... He sang like... i think erm.... 9 songs altogether and turned the hall into a large karaoke room... Base on my memory...  these were the songs he sang... not in order... 你不知道的事 by LeeHom, 普通朋友 by David Tao, When I was your man by Bruno Mars, Back at One by Brian McKnight (He was on Celebrity Apprentice!!! Just saying...), and he also sang a few of his originals... Hide and Seek, Still in Love, Thank You, Unexpectedly, Best Friend... are there 9 songs?? I hope that's all because that's all I remembered...

He was also giving out free t-shirts but I was sitting too far away from the stage that it's impossible that the shirt will actually reach where I am sitting.. and yes, he threw the shirts to the crowd..

And then, it's Clara's turn.. Oh wait... I think Mandy's performance was in between Jason and Clara.. Oh gosh.. Please just mentally insert her photos that are on top here... she sang Treasure by Bruno Mars, by the way...

I started listening to Clara's covers and songs after she collaborated with Tiffany Alvord in Home by Phillip Phillips... and she was super cute in the ISA gameshow.. i linked that before... go search my posts.. she was super bubbly on stage... super cute!!

Er... i think all of the songs that she have sung are her originals.. not in order, again.. all base on memory.. Wanting what I need, Offbeat, Heartstrings, Fish, The Camel Song, False Start, You've got it all, Quesadilla... Oh!! and I think I heard she sang Thrift Shop by Macklemore too.. so means she did sang songs that were not her originals.. I think that's all... somehow I got a feeling that she sang more songs but I just couldn't remember...

And then... it was the meet and greet.. yea!!!

Okay, since I have been linking photos from another site and using some of chingu's.. Here's proof that I was actually there...

Taaddddddaaaaaa!!!

I know I looked funny... It was like almost 1 in the morning and it's waaaaay past my bedtime.. I woke up at 6 ish to finish my homework for Korean class in the morning... So, I have the right to look blur, ok???
Besides, I was actually planning to tell Clara that I thought she was really cute on the ISA gameshow but she decided to shock me first by telling me that my dress was nice.. and... oh well, I blanked out and smiled and mumbled "thank you"... hence, THE FACE....

I reach home at almost 2.30am... and I have to go to work the next morning.. hohoho...

anyways... being very generous all of a sudden.. I bought both of their CDs...

You can find both Clara and Jason's autograph and the rest around them are from the guests,  Charis Ow, Sheikh Eamir and Mandy Star....

Alright, first post in August down.. 2 more to go!!
