YouTube Sensation

Hey Peepoes!! I have been posting more frequent than before which is good since I am sticking to my resolution.. Anyway, it might also due to the reason that I am still hyped in blogging mood and I keep having ideas to post...

I have been quite keen on YouTube lately and it's not to watch shows, series or interviews.. Instead, I have been following a few YouTube celebrities...

Here are some of the channels I have been following..

Jason Chen aka miniachilles
I started listening to him after a friend shared his cover of "Hate that I love you" and it got me addicted to his covers, then I started listening to his originals, this is my current favourite, "Burns" and there's another one that I really like, it's called "Solo Player" which featured...

Jen aka Frmheadtotoe who is also a blogger.. she post make up tutorials on her blogs and are fun to watch.. I love watching her tutorials although I don't put on make up on daily basis, only during special occasions.. but her videos are really interesting..

Jen also starred in "Away We Happened" a web series produced by Wong Fu Productions an independent production company which reminded me of what i have always aspired to do... When I was watching their interview, I totally understand the feeling of having to watch out behind their shoulders when they were filming without a permit... When I was doing my uni assignments, we had to look out for security guards who will constantly keep on eye on us after finding out that we have cameras and are shooting on the property they are in charge in... those times may be tiring but no doubt they were a whole lot of fun... They have interesting videos.. so check them out if you're interested..

And then we have....

Tiffany Alvord, I found her after watching Jason Chen's "Burns" video, as embedded above.. she also did a few covers with him and I really love her version of "We are never ever getting back together", no offense to the original maybe I have a different taste.. She will be coming to Malaysia for a showcase on March but the VIP tickets were sold out.. Sigh.. If i could get someone to go with me, I will settle with the chill zone tickets because I can go stand there by myself, fyi Chill Zone is free standing so it's wiser to go with a friend so that you won't get bullied by people who went in a group...

Then I found Sam Tsui on the side bar while listening to Tiffany's version of "I knew you were trouble" and his version straight away became my favourite.. still, no offense to the original.. the guy's version of the song is nice too!!

Last but not least,

Megan Nicole, she did "Safe and Sound" and "Who says" with Tiffany, and both of them were really nice.. She also did "Locked out of Heaven" with Sam Tsui which has been on replay on my YouTube playlist..

These are my current favourites.. I havent been checking out other YouTubers who does cover videos, so I don't mean that the others are not good just these few are my current find and current favourite.. Feel free to share your favourite YouTube channel in the comments..

5 things that I collect, and still do

As I have mentioned, I am a hoarder~~ so collecting stuff things is somehow my nature.. After more than 20 years of being alive, I guess I have collected quite a pile of things (maybe not a pile.. some piles) that, currently contributes to the major mess in my room.

Now, let's see...

1. Plushie, soft toys, dolls or whatever you would call these...

I can't resist cute plushies when they are on the shelves of shops.. I somehow can hear them calling out for me, telling me that I should bring them home.. I never regret getting any one of them.. quite a few in the group are actually gifts from friends and I thank every single person who contributed and gave me these precious little cuties..
People may think that these are childish stuff, only people who can't grow up keep these.. Oh well, just treat me like a 3 year old then.. I am not giving up on loving them.. You can tell them all your secrets and be hell sure that it will never be spilled out.. unless somebody is eavesdropping, of course.. looking at them will just cheer you up as they will smile at you and somehow sends a signal that they will always be by your side..

2. Notebooks, the one you write on, in case you are wondering~~

Since I really like writing.. writing as in writing down with a pen/pencil on paper.. Notebooks are my absolute favourite item.. However, I might sometimes feel that the things that I write does not deserve to be penned down in a nice notebook.. so i have a box full of new, still-wrapped-in-plastic, untouched notebooks under my bed.. since I could not decide on something worthy to be written into them...
the notebooks that I use are usually the typical, boring, leather-like organiser with a company logo somewhere on the cover.. even those are still in my storage, I couldn't bear disposing them.. not after i have written in them..

3. USB flash drive, thumb drives, storage devices, including external hard disk

I really don't know why but everytime my dad ask me if there's  anything I want from the PC fair, it would be thumb drives or external hard disks.. and when Groupon or whatever group-buy sites have deals on storage drives.. My credit card will suffer a swipe.. I really don't understand why am I so obsessed with storage drives?? maybe it's because it stores stuff and i'm a hoarder.. hahaha...

4. Bookmarks

Although nowadays I hardly buy any but I will do still if I have seen any that attracts me... I used to buy a dozen everytime i go to Living Cabin, i will walk straight to where the bookmarks' shelves are and start picking... however, the shelves are no longer there~~ which also explains why I don't buy these often anymore.. anyway, as said on the title, i still do collect bookmarks~~

5. Bags~~

Well, I'm a girl...clothes and bags are also interests of mine.. I do buy a lot of clothes but I don't think I am collecting.. so i guess it's bags.. handbags, sling bags, backpacks, clutches, i do have a variety of bags with my name on it...

That's most of my collections... I might write a post about stuff that I used to but don't collect anymore...

For now, that's all folks!

Signing off..

10 places that I would love to go again

Heyo, I'm back to continue my list of "10 places that I would love to go again".
Number 1

Hong Kong

This has always been my top favourite place as a TVB fan... People say it's a really hectic and stressful place to be in but then.. I still like it.. after visiting the country for a handful of times, I never stop liking this place.. With this in the picture

it definitely deserves the very top spot in my list.

Number 2

Shanghai, China

Well, I really like developed cities.. The last time I was here, I only spent 2 days as I was following a tour.. Would definitely love to come again and stay for a week or so..

Number 3

Taiwan

Been there last year, enjoyed and would like to go again years later to see the difference.
Number 4

Hangzhou, China

For those who haven't been here... It's beautiful!!!

Number 5

Beijing, China

I did promise my mom that I'll bring her to the Forbidden Palace again after the tantrum that I caused when I was 5(or 6) resulting us(the family without my brother, yet) never got to see the exciting parts of the palace.. Well, it was not my fault that the place is humongous and I'm a kid with short legs who lived all her life in a place where the sun shines every single day and can't stand the freezing weather in Beijing...

Number 6

Guangzhou, China

Right, I am aware that this is like the 4th (excluding HK and TW) PRC city I have listed... Well, I am Malaysian Chinese and I do feel more comfortable being in a place where the majority speaks a language that I understand. I was on a tour too the last time I've been here and spent only 1 day here.. so i need more time to explore this place.
Number 7

Shenzhen, China

Thanks to several HK dramas, this place has been labeled as the place for pirated stuff and mistresses.. In my point of view, it's a great place for shopping (not for pirated stuff).

Number 8

Singapore

A place close to home... and it has the Universal Studios!!

Number 9

Dalian, China

This will be my last Chinese cities... A very unique city in China, it's different from the other big cities in China.. Worth to be explored..

Number 10
Malacca, Malaysia
And of course, how could I not list a place that is in the country that I'm living in?? I would be suggesting Malacca as the place to go to a foreigner, it has everything from historical stuff, cultural stuff, shopping and food..
As a conclusion after writing both posts about places around the world, I'm more of a city, shopping, play and sight-seeing person.. Beaches are not much of my genre... So, here we are.. my lists of places that I would like to go to...
So time to save my travel funds... i think I should be able to go one place per year... hopefully~~

That's all folks

10 places to go before I die

I accidentally came across an article called "10 places to go before you die", which I find pretty amusing and since I'm earning (although it's just peanuts) now but I would love to travel, not really all around the world but at least to a few places that I have always dreamt of.

I separated the list to 2 categories, the first one are places that currently only manage to appear in my dreams, while the latter are places that I have visited and would definitely love to go again...

My "10 places to go before I die"

Number 1

Tokyo, Japan
The place that I have always wanted to go since I knew Doraemon. And besides, I did not learn Japanese for nothing.
And of course, Disneyland!! The first Disneyland in Asia.

Number 2

Seoul, Korea

A place that I have grown interest recently. I was not really a K-pop or K-drama fan but I do watch and listen to Korean stuff.. And again, I did not learn Korean for nothing ;P

Number 3

California, USA

When I was a kid, I have always wanted to go visit Sesame Street (I still don't know whether it exists or not), after a while I somehow linked Sesame Street to California.. Ok, I know this makes no sense so just let me try to work this out and connect the dots. Sesame Street is America to me and California is like the signature of America, so Sesame Street seems like California.. If it still makes no sense, then just ignore this..
Aaaaaand, another attraction...

Disney land!!! The one in California is way bigger than the one in Tokyo, definitely worth to visit.

Number 4

New York City, USA

The main reason for this is Gossip Girl.. Hah, the Manhattan Upper East Side and socialites.. I'm such a TV addict..

Number 5

Florida, USA

The biggest reason for this is that it has the world's largest Disney Land!! Ok, that's like the third Disney Land I want to go to. Disney is like everybody's childhood and that's including me.. So, what's wrong about fulfilling a childhood dream??

And then, there's also the Universal Studios

Why?? I love Woody Woodpecker!! huh-huh-huh-haa-haa~~

Number 6

London, England

Well, first things first, my parents graduated here.. So it makes the perfect sense for me to want to visit this place..
Oh, why again??

Like all the other Potter fans, Platform nine and 3 quarters at King Cross Station....

Number 7

Bangkok, Thailand

And yes, I do live in a country right below Thailand and My mom's hometown is like a borderline away from the country and yet I have not been to Thailand. Let's exclude the time when I "conquered" the Thai water(sea) when I was like 14 or something.. Shhhh... that was illegal.

Number 8

Switzerland

This one really came out of nowhere... The land of Swiss chees, Swiss chocolates and watches..

Number 9

Rome, Italy

After watching Triumph in the Skies, Rome seems like the most romantic place on Earth.. This is where all the love stories begins.. and the artsy stuff that I have studied during my foundation year.. I really should go take a look..

Number 10

Paris, France

This was also due to the influence of Gossip Girl... I'm not really much of a fashion person but a look at the World's most fashionable city is a chance you can't miss.

And of course, I promise this is the last time you'll see it in the post

Paris Disney Land!!! Visiting all the Disney Lands in the world is my ultimate dream...

Alright, that's all for the dream list... the "have been to and would love to go again" list will be up on the next post.. Since I don't update that often nowadays anyway.. so a few posts should be able to keep you company, I know there's a whole bunch out there who won't wanna read long posts..

twelve plus one equals thirteen..

Well... the current big Hoo-haa besides Thaipusam and American Idol, the thirteenth zodiac.. horoscope.. star sign.. whatever you call it.. the Ophiuchus... how do you pronouce this anyway?? os-fiu-choos?? well.. again.. it's not really my concern as far as the dates and horoscope thingy changes.. my horoscope will not be this os-fiu-choos thing.. so i wouldnt have to care how to pronounce it..

well.. if you are still seeing stars, question marks, fogs aka blur about what i have to say here.. i'll have to say.. stick your face onto a book.. there's like tons of posts, status, notes.. whatever you can post on stick-your-face-onto-a-book (aka Facebook la.. in case you are not in the same direction as i am.. just have to give it in your face!! then I throw you a book.. wahahaha... ok, enough of these faces and books.. back to the story) almost everybody has been posting, announcing, broadcasting, grumbling, moaning about the change of horoscopes because a certain 13th horoscope has been found..

to know more about this.. http://www.coffetoday.com/the-thirteenth-zodiac/908672/
that's one of the website to go.. or else.. go google la.. 13th horoscope or something..

What do I have to say about this?? Not much.. just the fact that I'm split into 2 horoscopes makes the whole thing a lot more fun... have you notice that there's a repitition of the last date and the first date of 2 consecutive horoscopes?? which means people who were born on these dates belongs to 2 horoscopes.. ain't that interesting??

I admit that i do like to read up about horoscopes and fotune telling stuff just for the fun of it and to testify it's accurate-ness... so as long as i still have something to refer to.. i dont mind being in 1, 2, 3 or even 4 horoscopes..

here are the dates and changes.. help yourselves..

- Capricorn : 20 January – 16 February
- Aquarius : 16 February – 11 March
- Pisces: 11 March – 18 April
- Aries: 18 April – 13 May
- Taurus: 13 May – 21 June
- Gemini: 21 June – 20 July
- Cancer: 20 July – 10 August
- Leo: 10 August – 16 September
- Virgo: 16 September – 30 October
- Libra: 30 October – 23 November
- Scorpio: 23 November – 29 November
-Ophiuchus: 29 November – 17 December
- Sagittarius: 17 December – 20 January

this post is kinda meaningless besides spreading the hoo-ha about the horoscope.. and also to bring back my blog-updating mood so that this place will not be neglected too often..

that's all i have to say...

what do you feel when exam is nearing???

As i go around peeking at other people's blog... i found something very interesting from one my high school mate's blog.... which very much describes my feelings during exam... although mine is almost over... but like i once said before... sharing is caring....

those in purple... are my own opinions... the rest are all taken from my friend's blog...

What do you feel when exam is nearing?

Stress:

No need for that. Remember, the more you stress, the weaker you become and you get all tensed up. This leads to lack of sleep (just to force yourself to finish up all the notes), brain congestion (too stressed of counting the time you have left for studies & in the end rushing through everything), forgetting your meals (one good excuse ---- No appetite) and in the end --> Allostatic load and KO
my stress level usually risen when i see the question paper and realise that i have no idea how am i going to answer... this will really stress me out... other than that... it's still ok... the stress is usually an aftermath... when i think i didnt do well for the exam... that's when the stress factor comes in...

Depression:

"Oh my god..I'm dead..I'm dead!!! I haven't study this, that, here, there, everything!!!"
"Shit..Why can't I remember anything?!!"
"Darn..Why people can remember such details which I don't even have a clue what that's all about?!"
"Time is running out . . . I'm dead for sure . . ."

And before you realise, you are already DEAD before the exams. Rather than spending your time sulking, STUDY and give in your best efforts!
again... my depression level risen after exams, normally.... when i realise that i couldnt answer a single question properly... then i'll damn depressed... but this feeling usually will not last long... as after every paper i have done... it's a step closer to my holidays... so usually the feeling will be gone until i get back my results... ehehe

Insomnia:

Yeah it's normal, it happens all the time. People trying to stay up all night before the exams, trying as hard as they might to squeeze all the information into any possible sulcus or gyrus in the brain. Yes you can stuff them in, but will they stay there when your brain is screaming in agony for some sleep?

NO. So, why not use the time for some good rest instead?
oh no... i dont burn the midnight oil for exams... assignments, yes... but not for exams... i make sure i have enough sleep before exams... eventhough i'm not done memorising the notes and facts... i'll still go to sleep first and maybe snatch a few minutes before the exams starts to cram those into my brain...

Start asking people around for answers:

Haha..This is an interesting one. Before the exams, you are playing and fooling around in class when your friend is desperately trying to concentrate while you're laughing and joking and playing around behind them. Now you want their precious notes? That depends how KIND the person you're asking from then.
wahahaha... this will not happen to me.... unless i was absent during a particular lecture or tutorial.... i dont go around asking for other people's notes.... maybe i'll just ask people to print the notes that were received via email since my printer isnt very stable... wahaha... other than that... i never ask people for their notes...
well... i dont have to... i listen and pay attention during class... i write down what is necessary for me to know.... so that's enough for me.... since everybody is attending the same class... it is ridiculus for me to not know something that the lecturer or tutor has taught but others do... RIDICULUS!!!

Studying last minute:

You are asking for it. Time management is everything. You spent the time available for rest & relax, now you pay double/triple/quadruple for making up the time lost. Plan, plan and PLAN your studies right. It's what that decides whether you get to sleep, relax and study well for long term. You shouldn't be STUDYING before exams, it should be REVISION. (Remember your brain needs input a few times before registering in your brain! Well, unless you're a genius born with superb memory. Too bad I'm not.)
ah-ha... that's what i do everytime... i know i'm not suppose to be studying last minute... but lazy-ness is born in me... so i guess it sometimes serves me right when i dont remember important points... sigh~~

Stay happy in exams and good luck~

chickens?? roads??

Why did the chicken cross the road?

BARACK OBAMA:The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!

JOHN MCCAIN:My friends, that chicken crossed the road because it recognized the need to engage in cooperation anddialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON:When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure -- right from Day One! -- that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.......

GEORGE W. BUSH:We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want toknow if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

JOHN LENNON:Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing the road together, in peace.

BILL GATES:I have just released eChicken2008, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your check book. Internet Explorer is an integral part of the Chicken. This new platformis much more stable and will never cra...#@&&^(C% .......... reboot.

BILL CLINTON:I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

AL GORE:Chicken shall not shit while crossing the road. This is for a green environment.

LEE KUANYEW:We have installed crossing lights at all traffic junctions. All chickens should follow instructions while crossing the road.

SAMY VELLU:Gantry points have been set up. All chickens wanting to cross the road are advised to top up their cash cards first.

NAJIB RAZAK:What chickens? I don't know any chickens... especially those from Mongolia .

ABDULLAH BADAWI:We have to be fair to all chickens. Some want to cross over the road, some do not. ........ Zzzzzz .......zzzzzz ....... Now what were we talking about? Ah yes, chickens. We will form a Royal Commission to decide whether it is right for them to cross the road.

MAHATHIR:Now even non-bumi chickens want to cross the road! How can they disrespect and disregard apa nama bumi chickens? We must be allowed to cross over first. It is our special privilege and no one can challenge that!

ANWAR:We have enough chickens waiting to cross over in September.

SHAHRIR:All foreign chickens are welcome in Malaysia but they must not cross over the road within 50km of the border

my ways of budgeting....

with the petrol price increased.. and so does the price of a majority of products in the market.... people are bound to be saving money and cutting costs on their daily expenditure.... since i have nothing to write i decided to share some of my ways of being thrifty, stingy, a cheapskate, budgeting in my daily expenditure....

Firstly... you'll have to decide in every expenses required situation... "which is more important?? money or time????" why do you have to do that??? because things that are at a lower cost will usually require more time to be consumed.... agree??? no??? let me show you a few examples... taking a taxi and a bus.... a taxi cost more but allows you to reach your destination faster than a bus which costs less but will take a longer time to reach your destination because it needs to stop to pick up or drop passengers from time to time... still dont agree??? home-made cooking usually cost lesser than outside food because they charge service charge... at home.. no service charge is required.. you'll just have to pay for the ingredients and utilities.... but it takes a longer time to prepare a meal than to just hop into a restaurant and dine.... and you dont have to wash the dishes too... unless you didnt bring enough money to pay.. then that's another case....

after giving 2 examples i guess people will now understand that the decision making as stated above is kinda important when it comes to budgeting.....

for me... as a student who will not have to worry about rental and other big stuff... my budgeting plan is really simple... and will be more suitable for students like me....

firstly... food... this is what i spend on the most.... well... if you really want to save on food... then the mamak stall is always the best choice.. since you can settle your meal in less than RM5... but sitting at the mamak stall may not be comfortable... under the hot and glaring sun.... with cars passing by... dust everywhere... of course you can also choose to take away.. but using the not-very-environmental-friendly polystyrene box may not be good for your conscience... unless you dont care... then it's ok... but if you do... just bring along a tupperware... and your own cutleries... however... if you are... like me... who prefer a nicer environment for food for a slightly higher price... then you can hop on to some economical cafe or coffee shop situated around your campus area... why??? because usually diners situated near a college or univeristy campus are bound to provide discounts for students... usually the food will not be more than RM10... sometimes a set may be more worth it since it comes with drinks... but sometimes a set is actually the price of the food and drink in total... maybe minus a few cents to make it look cheaper... in that case... you can always arder ala carte and bring in you own water bottles.... although it states "no outside food and drinks allowed" but usually it's ok for water bottles... but if the drinks are bottomless and you are going to stay at the cafe for like more than 2 hours... ordering the drinks may not seem like a bad choice after all... and sometimes... you can share it with a friend... heee

students spend quite some money on printing notes too... to print in campus is usually cheaper than printing them outside... i'm not saying that it always is... there are always cheaper costs in some shops... depends whether do you know where it is... anyway... if it is to print thru a local printer... in my school it cost 6cents per page.... and to photocopy... it's 6cents per page but it'll go lesse depending on the amount of pages wanting to be photocopied.... so the best way is to get a few friends who want the notes.. print 1 copy out first... then photocopy... share up the printing cost and divide equally among each other.... it usually costs lesser...

if you are printing notes in powerpoint slides... then you should go through the soft copy first... delete some unnecessary parts such as pictures (since they will never show up clear in black and white printing.. unless it's important), repeats of points, the introduction (since it will be covered in the remaining slides), "thank you", and the big heading that usually fills up a slide.... then you can always merge up points if the slides are half empty to save the amount of slides which will affect the amount of pages being printed out... lecturers usually leave a lot of space in between point because if they have too many points jumbled up in one slide... the students may find it confusing.... but for own reference... it does not apply.... besides you can also drop out the fancy designs of the slides to the default... no point looking at pretty slides when they show up black and white... besides.. you can also add in more or your own points with the remaining space....

to save on parking fare for those who are driving... i'm saying this from my point of view... base on my own situation.. may not be applied to all.... parking spaces are available free-of-charge and not to mention free-of-summons in front of my faculty building but its limited... so the early bird always gets the worm... if your class starts before 11a.m. why not leave for school early to get a cost-free and summons-free parking space??? i usually leave my house at 6.30am to avoid jams and get parking space.... by avoiding jams... you can also save petrol cost at the same time... but due to the limited number of parking spaces and there are also workers who also need cost-free and summons-free parking space... those spaces are usually fully occupied by 7.15am.... so adjust your time accordingly...

if your class starts later than 11.30 than it might be weird to go off that early unless you have something else to do in campus... if that's the case... you can forget about cost-free and summons-free parking unless you are damn lucky.... you'll have to park at the parking lot... which for my case charges rm2 for the first 3 hours and rm1.5 each hour after.... if your classes of the day is 6 hours long in total... always remember that you can remove your car parked there for around 3 hours already... pay rm2 and get back up into the parking lot again.... in that case... 6 hours will only cost you rm4... rather than leaving it there for 6 hours and pay rm6.50.... you'll save rm2.5.... that's a lot!!!!

and remember, dont risk parking at place that are bound to get summons when there are police or mbpj around... because it's not worth it... the parking fare that costs less than rm10 and the summons fee that cost rm30 and up.. you do the math...

besides that... never put too much cash in you purse or wallet... it'll give you the urge to spend... dont worry it's normal... when you see that you have a lot of cash in your pocket.. you will not hesitate to spend them off because you'll still have some in the end... for instance i have rm50 in my pocket and i spent rm30 for a meal.. i wouldnt mind at first because i'll have rm20 to spare after all.... but if i only have rm30 in my pocket... i'll be thinking about what is the best way to spend my money on meals instead of just spending them off blindly without further consideration.... it makes sense though....

so i guess that's all for now... i have more ways... but i'll not reveal everything yet... later when i have the mood again...
