Then, a friend from work told me about a sewing workshop that is providing classes for beginners... the best thing was, it is near home!! and of course, i am still in the hype, so i enrolled myself in... that's the problem about being single.. you have just too much time, you tend to be involved in things like this... Oh well... sewing ain't too bad...
Just had my first class and I was taught to sew a key pouch...
It all started on a fine non-working day... i arrived at the workshop.. and was greeted by the shopkeeper who took out a few pieces of fabrics for me to choose...
When I started with my project, another girl came in and looked really familiar.. we stared at each other for a good 5 seconds to confirm that we actually work in the same company but different departments.. we would bump into each other during toilet breaks..
anyway, coincidental stories aside...
It all started like this... 4 different kind of fabrics to be sewed and ironed on each other...
Then to sew the sides to hide the opening of the layers... whatever that it. sorry I am not very good at describing processes..
Since I can't really explain... behold, pictures!!
All these were done using the sewing machine which was much different than the one I have at home.. Mine is the old traditional one that does not require electricity and you can control the rhythm of the sewing by the pace of your pedaling... which basically means, the faster i pedal the fast it sews and vice versa... but the one used here is the modern one... *feeling really old now* you can't really control the rhythm unless you are really familiar with the machine and hence... the very untidy stitches...
And now, we reached the hardest part of all... the zip!!!!
Which is not very hard compared to the zip but I kinda misunderstood the instructions and hence... untidy stitches... again~~~
and then.. we insert the ring into the pouch and voilaaaaa....
It's done!!!! the stitches were very messy but my very first, very own key pouch~~
I think i have spent around 6 hours making this... the hand sew part is torturous!!! my fingers still hurt by just thinking of this... oh well...
I sure hope I could achieve something here... maybe by being able to make my own pouch by the end of the year!!
That's all folks!
Signing off!!
Toodles!
