frustrations... orientations....

its back to school for most of the students today!!!! well... all the best in school!!! for me... my semester starts next week... so i'll have an extra of... lemme see.... 4 days to still hang around and do nothing.... hehe....

well... i'll just share a portion of what happened yesterday..... which was really unfair!!!!!! just because of stupid mr.m doesn't speak the same language as we do!!!!

it was the orientation day for january 2008 intake in UTAR.... well, i am one of the helpers there.... i was in charge of the so-called goodies and t-shirt....

firstly... before any of the registration business start... we'll have to count and make sure that the amount of everything (t-shirts and so-called goodies) matches with the so-called very high-tech system... ok... after counting.... everything matches... even though the number does not match the actual number written before but as mr.m says... the system is never wrong!!!!!!

fine.... we'll follow the super-duper-system if you say so.... then here comes registration..... our counter has 2 laptops while other counters have only 1... being the only counter who has 2 laptops... we ask mr.m whether should we use both at the same time..... and he said: if you have 2 computers, use 2.... so back to business... tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock....

registration has ended and it was really fast.... so mr.m told us to count the stuff and see whether it matches the amount in the super-duper-system.... since we have been using 2 computers, therefore both have different amount under the remaining stock column.... so we'll just have to do extra work by adding both together....

after a round of counting.... most of our stock have extras.... well, that's not very good but its better than having less.... while we were wondering how come there's extras in our stock.... mr.m came over to our counter and start doing something... he said he was editing the system so that it will match the amount... then he asked us again whether are we sure that all the amounts are correct..... we said yes... then he ask again.... "do you have 60 m-size shirts"... we were like... "no!!" the opening amount of m-size shirts is 63... there's no way that we just gave out 3 shirts!! commercial break:m size is a popular size!!! so we looked at his so called system and said... that this was the amount of one of the accounts.... there's another account stating the remaining of 50... meaning we gave out 16 shirts.... but did mr.m listen???? no!!!! he said you must follow the system!!! not by calculating in your own way..... what the??!!! we have 2 accounts opened so we'll have to take both accounts into calculation.... but mr.m will just not accept the fact that 2 accounts can carry different numbers.... he said something like the system is never wrong.... so there must be 60 shirts instead of the actual 47..... that means instead of having an extra of 10 shirts in the beginning.... we are now short of 3 shirts.... same goes with all other sizes... now we are lacked of everything.... even the files (so-called goodies) which were the most accurate because everybody took a file!!!

so now... we'll have to recount everything.... and explain why the number doesn't match the super-duper-system..... it isn't that hard to understand right??? we have 2 accounts open during the registration session so both accounts are dealing with different amount of students... in the end of the day... as 1 counter... we'll have to deduct from both accounts to come out with one correct figure of the remaining stock at our counter... commercial break: is it that hard to understand??? if you don't please leave a comment telling me which part you don't understand...

but mr.m just don't get it and got all pissed and frustrated about our numbers.... what is wrong with you anyway??!!! why can't you just listen and understand???!!!! it was so unfair!!!! we tried to find proof that we actually have more students at our counter than what the super-duper-system says.... so we count the temporary id cards... because we got 100 in the beginning so the remains will tell us how many students did we entertain.... and yes!!! we entertained 31 students!! not 18 like what the super-duper-system says.... but how could we get mr.m to listen... every helper there understands our situation and even helped us explain... but mr.m just doesn't speak the same language as we do.... he stood firm by saying the system is never wrong... ish ish ish.....

what the problem with you, mr.m??? you come here and throw a sentence which only you understand, leaving us with invisible question marks all over and expects us to do what is told??!! how the hell are we going to follow your orders if we just don't understand them in the first place???!!! tell me!!!
